About This Game
Welcome to the Wooden Workshop
Bolt Boxes is a screw-and-sort puzzle set in a polished wooden toy workshop. In front of you: a charming construction of layered boards held together by oversized, candy-colored bolts. Behind you: a row of color-coded boxes waiting for sorting. Unscrew every bolt, sort them all, and watch the construction come apart in the most satisfying way.
Unscrew, Sort, Release
- Tap a bolt whose head is visible and not blocked to unscrew it
- Bolts fly to their matching color box automatically
- If that color’s box is not open, the bolt waits in your five-slot rack
- Remove the last supporting bolt and the board piece drops with a happy tumble
- Clear the whole construction to finish the level
The catch is order: boards overlap, so the bolts you can reach depend on the pieces you have already freed.
What You Do
- 1Inspect the layered boards and spot bolts with visible, unblocked heads
- 2Tap an accessible bolt to unscrew it
- 3Let it fly to its color box, or park it in the five-slot rack
- 4Free the final supporting bolt and watch the board piece drop
- 5Clear the entire construction to finish the level
Tips for Players
Open color boxes before unscrewing everything in sight — a boxed bolt never clogs the rack.
Swing hinged boards early; they often reveal the bolt heads you need next.
Save wildcard boxes for bolts whose own color box opens late.
Watch the rack count: with five slots, decide which bolts must leave first.
Dropping a piece can uncover fresh bolts — sometimes the bold move is the productive one.

Bolt Boxes is tap-only with no timer, includes free undo and restart, and marks every color with a symbol so color-blind players can sort confidently. Later constructions stack many layers and reward patient inspection; if tracking stacked boards is tiring, try Color Pour Studio, a sorting puzzle that asks you to focus on one tube at a time.
Questions & Answers
Only bolts whose heads are visible and not mechanically blocked by another piece. Hidden bolts become reachable as boards drop away.
