Playkudo is made for kids aged 6–12, so this policy is written in plain words. The big idea is simple: we collect almost nothing, and what matters stays on your device.

What we collect: almost nothing

In short: We do not ask for names, email addresses, accounts, or any personal details — from kids or anyone else.

Playkudo has no sign-ups, no accounts, and no passwords. We never ask for a child’s name, email address, phone number, home address, school, photo, or exact location. We do not use device identifiers or advertising IDs for ads, and we do not build profiles of players.

What stays on your device (local storage)

In short: Favorites, game saves, sound settings, and recently played lists live only in this browser, on this device.

So games can remember you, your browser keeps a small amount of data on this device only: favorite games, recently played games, game saves and progress, sound and motion settings, and recent searches. This information never leaves the device — there is no Playkudo account it syncs to.

You can clear it any time: use your browser’s site-data settings for this site, or the “Clear” buttons near the Recently Played list. Clearing it only affects this browser on this device.

Advertising

In short: Today: only clearly labeled, first-party placeholders and house promos. Next: Google AdSense (then AdX), always child-directed and non-personalized.

Right now, ad spaces on Playkudo show only first-party content: clearly labeled placeholder panels and our own “Playkudo Picks” promo videos. Ad choices use only the page you are looking at (contextual advertising). There are no third-party ad networks, no behavioral targeting, no ad cookies, and no tracking of your child across the web. The only ad data we keep is the counting needed to enforce frequency limits, stored on the device.

We are preparing to serve real ads with Google AdSense (and later Google Ad Exchange). When that launches, third-party vendors, including Google, will use cookies to serve ads; Google’s use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads based on visits to this and/or other sites. Because Playkudo is tagged as child-directed (COPPA), Google will serve only non-personalized, age-appropriate ads here. The controls and opt-outs are explained on the Ad & privacy settings page.

Analytics: counting, not watching

In short: We count events in aggregate — like “a game was started” — with no names, no IDs, and no typed words.

To know what to improve, we keep simple aggregate counters on the device: how many times a game was started, a level finished, or a page visited. These counters contain no personal identifiers, no cross-site IDs, no IP addresses, and never the words typed into search boxes or forms. We cannot and do not use them to identify anyone.

What we never do

In short: No chat, no comments, no profiles, no precise location, no camera or microphone — ever.

  • No chat, comments, friend lists, or user profiles.
  • No uploads of photos, videos, or voice recordings.
  • No requests for camera, microphone, contacts, Bluetooth, files, or precise location.
  • No third-party links or ads inside games.
  • No purchases, in-app spending, or “real money” anything.

Parents’ rights & how to reach us

In short: You can review, clear, or ask about anything — a real person answers privacy questions first.

Because Playkudo stores nothing personal on servers, there is nothing for us to hand over or delete beyond what is already on your own device — and you control that directly. If you have questions, want help clearing data, or believe a child has sent us personal information, please contact us. Privacy questions from parents and guardians are answered first.

Data retention & deletion

In short: On-device data stays until you clear it; counters prune themselves to the last 14 days.

Favorites and saves remain on your device until you remove them or clear browser data. Aggregate analytics buckets are pruned automatically to the last 14 days. Ad frequency counters exist only to enforce limits and reset with the day. Nothing is sent to a server, so nothing is retained anywhere else.

Changes to this policy

In short: If we change how data works, we will say so here and update the date at the top.

Any future change to data practices will be written on this page in the same plain language before it takes effect, with the “Last updated” date changed. We will never quietly start collecting personal information.
